Here's the most badass video you'll see today. It's Ice Cube giving a tour of modernist building design in Los Angeles, where he actually studied architectural drafting before breaking out as a gangsta rap star in the 1980s. The short film is one of several created by TBWA\Chiat\Day to promote Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980, a massive collaboration among a number of Southern California cultural institutions celebrating the birth of the L.A. art scene. Ice Cube focuses on his favorite L.A. landmarks, giving particular attention to the iconic mid-century Eames House. It's a nice mix of architectural education and signature Ice Cube commentary like, "This is going green 1949-style, bitch."
